DIY

A couple of really neat DIY (Do it yourself) projects were featured on Design*Sponge and Skinny Laminx this week:

I would be all over these if I had a house to hang the lights in or a car to access the screenprinters. Maybe I'll do the plates next semester before I leave so I still have access to the kilns at school. I think I know a screenprinter who would be willing to do the other bit, but if I just know what sort of into to use on what sort of paper, it would be really easy to do that bit myself.

I have so much stuff to do before I go home next week for my brother's wedding. Let's see . . . finish 10 more invites, make a wedding album and guest book, and finish the Bacchus painting for him. How does time manage to go by so quickly???

Pages

Whoops! I totally forgot that I took a photo of pages 5-6 when I first did them weeks ago.

I guess I've been MIA for a bit now. What can I say? Summer = late drunken nights, fifteen hours of work a week, and a lot of sitting around doing nothing other than watching every episode of Peep Show on youtube. I am working on some stuff, but very s l o w l y. I've got a couple of mock up pages in the works that I'm a little unsure of, but I guess we'll see.

Watched Pride & Prejudice (the Joe Wright 2005 version. Others were too stuffy for me. Hell, the book is too stuffy for me.) again (15th time? Who the hell knows.) this weekend with Maddi and Steph. I found these comics done by the hilarious Kate Beaton that address Jane Austen's societal impact:

Oh Mr. Darcy!

P.S. His first name is Fitzwilliam. How sexy is that?
